Listen and Learn

Proverbs 1:20-23

20 Wisdom calls aloud outside;

She raises her voice in the open squares.

21 She cries out in the chief concourses,

At the openings of the gates in the city

She speaks her words:

22 “How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity?

For scorners delight in their scorning,

And fools hate knowledge.

23 Turn at my rebuke;

Surely I will pour out my spirit on you;

I will make my words known to you.

God tells us that wisdom is calling to us.

Drawing us to come close and listen.

Summoning us to approach and learn.

Wisdom asks how long will we stay ignorant?

We are scorners of things we do not understand.

And we do not want to comprehend.

We hate God's knowledge, because once we know, we are responsible to act accordingly.

But the Lord also tells us to turn to Him, when He reprimands us.

Learn from Him and He will make His words clear to us.

If we will make the effort to learn God's wisdom, what He knows.

He will pour His spirit on us and teach us how to be like our Savior, Jesus.

Respond to wisdom, turn to the Lord and listen and learn.
